We are excited to see children and their families come to know and love Jesus.
We want to inspire, support, equip, engage, empower and grow together as we seek to follow Jesus, make disciples and build the kingdom.
St Mark’s is blessed with many incredible children and we love nothing more than to gather together. We seek to create different spaces throughout the week for 0-11yr olds to grow in relationship with God and each other.

Sunday Morning Kids Groups
Activate are our children’s groups that operate during term time at the 10.30am. All children and adults are together at the beginning of the service before they split into the below groups where registers are taken.
Activate Green
We offer a wide range of toys for play as well as some simple activities to introduce God’s love to your little ones.There is always a leader and team of helpers on duty, and should your child need you during the service, we are able to alert you.
Activate Red
Through a variety of fun games and group activities, interactive Bible stories, drama, worship, and craft, we encourage each child to learn to develop a relationship with God.There is always a leader and team of helpers on duty, and should your child need you during the service, we are able to alert you.
Activate Yellow
Through a variety of fun games and group activities, interactive Bible stories, drama, worship, and craft, we encourage each child to learn to develop a relationship with God.There is always a leader and team of helpers on duty, and should your child need you during the service, we are able to alert you.
Activate Blue
We believe that children learn best when having fun! We offer a creative session of worship, interactive prayer, crafts, games, and age specific teaching.Each child has a group leader who works with them in smaller groups organised by age range.
Sunday Afternoon Kids Service
Our family-focused service is on Sunday at 4pm where adults stay with their children and registers are taken for attendance. Church with Lego happens once a month.
Church At 4
This all together family service for families is aimed at primary aged children and runs Sundays during term time. Our time begins with tea and toast followed by an interactive service with teaching, worship, games and prayer. All ages are welcome. Children must be accompanied by a grown up.
Church with Lego
On the first Sunday of the month during term time, we learn more about Jesus through Lego. We listen to a Bible story and then enjoy time to create Lego themed models that link to the Bible story. There's time at the end for us to share our models, before we pray and the session ends.

Gathering At Other Times
Seasonal
We run special events throughout the year often during Easter, October, Advent and Christmas. This is an opportunity for the whole family to join in and explore more about faith through interactive fun sessions.
Holiday Club
Our holiday club happens at the end of August for primary- aged children. We host around 90 children over three mornings. This is a time of great adventure as we journey through our time together learning more about Jesus each day. Mornings are jam-packed with drama, games, songs, craft, and teaching.
Assemblies
We love to visit schools and enjoy delivering assemblies based around a seasonal theme or maybe an aspect of the Christian faith. We have ex-teachers within our team who are used to the school setting and understand the boundaries of representing faith in schools. Our assemblies are fun and interactive and provide opportunities for reflection and prayer.
School Visits
There is nothing quite like a visit to a place of worship for children to understand more about faith. Church visits provide great opportunities for questioning and gives a sense of awe and wonder. During the visit, children will look at some of the building and engage in fun interactive activities to consolidate their learning.
What To Expect & FAQs
Yes, we record registered child attendance for safeguarding purposes and also for school entry requirements.
If you are registered with us attendance is recorded during term time at Sunday 10.30 groups and at the 4pm service including Lego church. For safeguarding and health and safety we also ask children to register for one-off special events.
During term time
Before the 10.30am Service
Speak to a welcomer to register or fill in this consent form. Grab a seat for the beginning of the service with your children!
Start of Service
All children join the main service for worship.
Going to Groups
After worship in the service, children will go to their groups. Please escort your children aged 18 months – Reception to their rooms to check them into their groups before returning to the service. Older children can either walk to rooms for registration by themselves where they will be greeted by our kids team, or you may escort them if you prefer.
You may not stay in your child’s supervised group unless you have had a DBS check through St Mark’s.
After the Service
After the service has finished, ou will be instructed to collect your child from the group room or wait for them in the church.
When you get home
Why not ask your child to share what they learnt in their group that morning!? Carrying on the conversation is a great way to disciple your children at home!
We are learning how we can best support children with additional needs and who are not neurotypical.
Our goal is to make all of our events as inclusive and accessible as possible. With current team capacity we are not able to offer 1 on 1 support. If you are interested in bringing a young person with additional needs, please do get in touch and we can discuss how to ensure they have the best time possible
Liz sets aside one designated date each year to be available to sign forms. On this day, parents and guardians are asked to attend in person and bring the blank entry requirements section of the form with them. Throughout the year, registered children’s attendance is recorded electronically in our database, this generates end-of-year attendance reports. Liz uses this information to provide the accurate attendance data required for the form.
