Services at St Mark's

Sunday 9AM
Holy Communion
We meet weekly at 9am for a traditional, liturgical service lasting around one hour. Music includes classic and modern hymns led by our wonderful robed choir. Holy Communion is celebrated every week. Led by a member of clergy, we follow the Common Book of Prayer. Our Bible readings are the same as the 10.30 service but often the preacher is different and therefore the sermons can be too. Afterwards we enjoy tea and coffee together.

Sunday 10.30AM
Morning Worship with Children's and Youth Group
The 10.30am is an informal service lasting around one hour. It begins with everyone together before children and young people, during term-time, go off to their dedicated groups. The service includes teaching, worship, prayer and an opportunity to wait on the Holy Spirit as we seek to welcome His presence and respond to all we have heard. Music includes classic and contemporary songs led by our fantastic worship bands. We end with everyone back together before we finish with a time of community with tea and coffee served.During the school holidays we are have an altogether service where adults and children all stay together and our service it's aimed at all ages learning how to follow Jesus.

What To Expect & FAQs
We would love to welcome you to a service soon.
On a Sunday we have welcomers on our door who will be eager to greet you. They will be wearing a green lanyard so should be easy to recognise. Do introduce yourself and let them know you are new. Our welcomers will show you around and point you in the right direction as well as introducing you to others who may be able to help.
Depending on which service you attend there may be a live band, choir or acoustic worship. The service will always be lead from the front by a leader and may include Holy Communion.
We encourage you to enjoy tea and coffee either after the service or before. This is a great way to chat to new people.
We encourage you to come as you are. Please wear what ever you feel comfortable in. Whether that’s trainers and jeans or a smart suit please come!
Our building is accessible for those with mobility challenges, including wheelchairs, and there is a fully accessible toilet.
Just ask the Office or Welcomers for information on the Hearing Loop, for large print Bibles, for ear defenders or to be put in touch with our Disability Officer about any other needs and we will try to help.
