Garden Management

Pollinators

We have a huge number of pollinator-friendly plants, with
something flowering at every time of year. Seedheads and berries are allowed to remain,
to provide winter food for birds, insects and
other wildlife. Flowers and greenery from the garden are
added to the interior floral displays, to reduce
the number of high-carbon shop-bought flowers.

Meadows

Some of the grass in the meadow is
left long, with paths mown through. (We are
only too aware of the 97% loss of meadows).
There are at least five species of meadow
grass and about 8 types of flowering ‘weeds’
