Prayer Walking
What is prayer walking?
It’s as simple as it sounds – praying as you walk. One definition states ‘praying on-site with insight’. When we prayer walk we are stepping into our God-given authority to bless people and places in Jesus’ name.
- It’s a way to bring transformation to our communities by asking God to break in with His love and power.
- It’s talking to God; ask Him to show you what He sees; to know His heart for your local community.
Why prayer walking?
The Old Testament has many passages which teach us to walk an area for God’s glory including;
- The powerful passage of the story of Joshua taking the city of Jericho. (Josh. 6)
- When God spoke to Abraham, “Arise, walk about the land through its length and breadth; for I will give it to you.” (Gen. 13:17)
- Speaking to Joshua, God said, “Every place on which the sole of your foot treads, I have given it to you…” (Josh. 1:3)
